I can be my own Shero
The heroine Keung Hang-yu, who is suffering from cancer, witnessed the adultery between her husband and her only best friend. After being poisoned, she was reborn and returned to five years ago to start her own counterattack story.
Keung Hang-yu is kind-hearted by nature, and her nasty husband Sze Kai-wai always makes her life difficult. She has been toiling over the years and is diagnosed with stomach cancer. Just when she thinks her domestic life has hit a rough patch, her only buddy Poon Suet-man offers her support. However, Suet-man turns out to be Kai-wai’s mistress, and the two of them also want to grab Hang-yu’s huge insurance payout. Hang-yu catches the duo having some hanky-panky. And she is verbally abused and even pushed into the road by Suet-man. Hang-yu comes round in her hospital bed and realizes her tragic life is just a dream. And soon the images in her dream come true, and the doctor deduces that Hang-yu is having some “premonition”. Hang-yu thinks if the misfortune in her dream were to come true, she would rewrite her destiny and create happiness for herself!
As Hang-yu prepares to submit her report, she recalls her premonition that Kai-wai and Suet-man have passed the buck so that she becomes a scapegoat. Hang-yu uses her dream experience to expose Kai-wai and Suet-man’s plagiarism of some overseas advert, resulting in their rival Yip Ka-him’s team clinching the advertising deal. Yip Hei-in, who is trapped in the toilet, comes to Hang-yu’s rescue, and the duo become friends. Furthermore, Hang-yu is determined to make Kai-wai and Suet-man suffer the misfortune in her dream. Rumors about Hei-in seducing Ka-him to climb the corporate ladder spark heated discussions on the company’s website, and Hang-yu is accused of being the culprit behind spreading gossip. Hang-yu learns from Tam Yuen-lan that Suet-man is the troublemaker, so she teams up with Hei-in and Yuen-lan to unmask Suet-man in front of everybody.
Suet-man wants to go to Hang-yu’s home to apologize to her. Hang-yu beats Suet-man at her own game by inviting Kai-wai to her home to give the two of them a chance to be alone in the hope that they might hook up. Ka-him is inspired to come up with some idea for the theme of the jewelry advertisement as he sees Hang-yu’s dejected expression. Just when Ka-him thinks everything is going smoothly, another agency beats him to it with their advertising ideas, and he is even framed for betraying the agency.
The jewelry advertising concept is leaked, and it turns out it’s Ka-him’s older brother Yip Kai-wing’s scheme. Hang-yu is forced to resign as she recalls when she dreamed of Ka-him, and bystander Kai-wai reaps the benefits as he is promoted. Soon after his promotion, Kai-wai proposes to Hang-yu, resulting in the beginning of his unfortunate life in his dreams. Hang-yu tries her best to help Ka-him prevent the dream from coming true, and together they eventually come up with a new advertising theme. Ka-him manages to resolve the crisis, and his relationship with Hang-yu progresses. Hei-in deduces that Hang-yu can “predict the future”, so she questions her about it. Hang-yu just has to come clean about her “premonitions”. Hang-yu befriends other girls in the office, leaving Suet-man feeling disgruntled. She decides to take action to win Hang-yu back.
Suet-man hopes to embarrass Hang-yu at the high school basketball alumni reunion, but Hang-yu sees through Suet-man’s intentions. Hei-in collaborates with Yuen-lan and Lam Mei-ki to create a makeover for Hang-yu. Hang-yu runs into Chan Ho-yan, who was her high school secret crush, at a restaurant, and questions him about the truth behind his sudden change in attitude back then. On the night of the class reunion, Hang-yu sides with the trio that has always picked picked on her in a confrontation against Suet-man. And she teams up with Ho-yan to expose Suet-man’s old lies. Hang-yu hands over the evidence that indicates Kai-wai has framed Ka-him for leaking company secrets to Ka-him. Eventually, although there are unexpected twists and turns when Kai-wai’s scheme is exposed, Ka-him manages to stay at the advertising agency, while Hang-yu is reassigned to a group of newly acquainted amicable sisters and becomes a team member!
Hang-yu leads the “women’s team” to oversee the first project, which entails rebranding of On the Cloud Food & Beverage Group Ltd.. Actually, it’s their boss Ng Ki-cheong’s covert maneuver as he reckons Hei-in is not up to it and Yuen-lan and Yuen Sze-wing are often distracted by personal matters. Suet-man wants to take advantage of the situation, but Kai-wai has no intention of leaving Hang-yu. Hang-yu relies on her dream experience to promote new ideas, but On the Cloud’s representative unexpectedly turns them down, and the girls face a crisis. Ki-cheong arranges for Kai-wai and Ho Tsz-wai from another team to take over the project. Hang-yu uses Suet-man to turn the situation around, and the crisis is overcome. And Hang-yu’s new advertising design is appreciated by On the Cloud. Ka-him in fact secretly provides assistance. Ka-him cherishes a particular bottle of chocolate. Actually, he and Hang-yu are meant for each other.
Kai-wing loses his temper as he finds out Ka-him covertly helps Hang-yu. He in fact suffers from some emotional illness. Ka-him’s grandmother Yip Cheuk Ling-kwan praises him, and Kai-wing is secretly unhappy. Hang-yu is nearly hit by some car, and Ka-him comes to her rescue just in time. Hang-yu has flashbacks of the fragments of the car that hit her. Ho-yan still thinks of Hang-yu. Ka-him covertly competes with Ho-yan as he finds out Ho-yan was Hang-yu’s first love. Hang-yu learns that Ka-him knows she has had some premonition dream. Ka-him admits he does not believe it but is willing to help. Hang-yu finds out Suet-man has bought some aphrodisiac, so she wants to use Ka-him to encourage Suet-man and Kai-wai. However, Suet-man wants to use the drug on Hang-yu and Ho-yan. Hang-yu discovers Suet-man’s trick just in time and quickly thinks of getting even. But she accidentally falls into the water.
Kai-wai and Suet-man sleep together under the influence of some aphrodisiac, and Hang-yu’s wish is fulfilled. Ka-him goes with Hang-yu to have some fun, and the duo’s relationship gradually progresses. Ho-yan is turned down when he makes a love confession to Hang-yu. He drowns his sorrows with Hei-in keeping him company. Ho-yan gets drunk and mistakes Hei-in for Hang-yu and kisses her. Ho-yan feels guilty, and Hei-yan avoids dealing with the situation as she is confused. Suet-man and Kai-wai secretly go out. Suet-man wants to force Kai-wai to leave Hang-yu, and Kai-wai makes excuses. Hang-yu asks Ka-him to lure Kai-wai into investing in stocks that are going to plummet. Hang-yu invites Ka-him to a meal gathering as a gesture of gratitude. But Ka-him has to join his family for dinner and meet his fiancée and daughter of Tong Yat Group Ltd, Wu Hiu-tung.
At the dinner party, Ling-kwan readily gets along with Hiu-tung, but Ka-him is absent-minded. Hiu-tung always competes with her younger brother Wu Chit-long. She seizes some chance to come forward and take over Tong Yat’s new car project with Ka-him in charge of the new advertising campaign. Hiu-tong realizes Ka-him is preoccupied with something and reminds him to make some decision before his marriage. Hei-in guesses Hang-yu is Ka-him’s crush and feels sorry for him. Hang-yu runs into Hiu-tong, who is dizzy due to hypoglycemia, and helps her just in time. The duo impress each other. Kai-wai is meeting up Hang-yu to celebrate his mother Lee Pui-ching’s birthday. Suet-man causes Hang-yu to miss the gathering and tries to please Pui-ching. But everything is in fact Hang-yu’s scheme. Hang-yu knows Suet-man wants to start a family, so she deliberately reveals Pui-ching’s preferences to her.
Before signing the car advertising contract, Kai-wing unexpectedly causes trouble behind everybody’s back. Hiu-tong’s plan to invite celebrities to shoot commercials fails, and she is at her wits’ end as her father Wu Chun-tung puts pressure on her. The press event ends up as a success. Hiu-tong is grateful to Ka-him, who knows he has made some contribution through Hang-yu’s premonition. Kai-wai falls into Hang-yu’s trap and owes more debts. Kai-wai asks Pui-ching to lend him money, and Pui-ching turns him down. But he learns that if he gets married and starts a family, Pui-ching will give him money to buy a home. Meanwhile, Hang-yu asks Ka-him to pretend to be messing around with her so as to force Kai-wai to break up with her. Hang-yu pretends to be Ka-him’s girlfriend in front of Pui-ching, so Pui-ching forces Kai-wai to leave her. Unexpectedly, Hang-yu and Ka-him accidentally kiss.
